Notes: The Blue Flash Nebula is a small planetary nebula created when a star near the end of its life blows off a lot of gas into space.  Since this object is so small, I put a larger image of it in the upper left corner.  This object is about 4,700 light years distant.  It was discovered by William Hirschell in 1782.
